Soap Making - make a clean start!
The good news, for beginners, is that there is a really easy, 'almost instant’ method for trying your hand at soap making. Its called 'Melt & Pour' - how difficult can that be?
You simply melt the specially formulated soap base in your microwave' add colorants and fragrance then pour into a mould. Unbelieveably quick and simple.
These soaps are brilliant as you can use them as soon as they harden, you don’t have to wait a few weeks for them to cure(dry out).
I think ‘Real Soap Making’ or Cold Pressed Soap Making, is best left to professionals and experienced soap makers. This process uses caustic soda and requires the use of safety equipment, such as goggles and gloves as caustic soda can burn the skin and creates hazardous fumes.
IT'S NOT TOO DANGEROUS IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING and have a safe place to keep your caustic soda away from curious little people! Cold pressed soap is quite complicated to make and you have to wait a few weeks before you can use the soap. I would rather leave this kind of soap making to the more experienced or professional soap makers, like our
